Description

The Red Boost MKII™ is a germanium voiced treble booster. This circuit is biased to the original Rangemaster® spec’s and is voiced for that same sweet germanium breakup as the original.

We have also added an additional bass booster switch (left of the gain knob) for a slightly fatter Treble booster voicing.

Treble boosters are an excellent way to push your amp into natural tube breakup for a great solo tone.

If your familiar with the guitar tone’s of great musicians like Tony Iommi, Ritchie Black Moore, Brian May, Rory Gallagher, and Eric Clapton (noticeably on the 1966 Blues Breaker album) then you know what a great Treble Booster can do for your lead tone.

A very misunderstood effect a Treble Booster like the Red Boost MKII™ is designed to be used with a valve (tube) amp that is close on break up or even a little dirty, then, when engaged, the boost sends your amp over that threshold into creamy, sweet saturation. Notes remain clear and defined without any harshness while sustain (especially in the upper octaves) is increased.

The McPherson Red Boost MKII™ is an easy way to add an extra channel to your amp.
