The Echoplex® EP-3 echo unit is well know for more than just great echo, and its tone enhancing qualities have seen legendary musicians like Eddie Van Halen, Jimmy Page, Brain May and Eric Johnson utilize the preamp section to color their tone.
Tone enhancing, sweetening, thickening, 3 dimensional, and tone polishing, are all great words that describe the EP-3’s effect on your guitar tone. The McPherson Black Boost MKII™ faithfully re-creates this magic.
The controls are simple, one Gain knob that adjusts the overall output and tone of the unit .
Our Black Boost MKII is built the same as the early 1970s EP-3’s with a little more top end detail.
While this pedal is more a tone booster than a volume booster, it still provides up to around 6db of boost to push your amp a little harder.
