Gabe Dovaston
Gabe is a guitarist from Tauranga, New Zealand. In 2006 he furthered his knowledge and passion for music by studying in NZ for 4 years, attaining a first class Honors degree in commercial music.
He gained recognition for his guitar capabilities and won awards for his compositions. As well as being a certified Pro Tools engineer he won a worldwide scholarship chosen by world-renowned guitarist Steve Vai to study at the prestigious Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in London where and ultimately won the ‘best guitarist award at the guitar institute. Gabe has continued to establish himself as a multi-faceted musician.
He currently runs The Academy in Papamoa Bay of Plenty NZ where he teaches guitar, music and recording.
With in-depth knowledge in a vast range of subjects including, music theory, ear training/ sight singing, composition, arranging, orchestration, music production software and recording techniques, Gabe’s goal is to make his students the best they can possibly be in all areas of the music industry.
Gabe chooses to play our McPherson Fusion Wah and has online demos of several of our pedals. He entrusts McPherson’s to work on his precious music equipment for repairs and servicing.
